Material Notes: Austenitic stainless steel, ASTM type 316L

Sandvik 3R66 is a molybdenum-alloyed austenitic chromium-nickel steel. It is characterized by low contents of the interstitial elements carbon and nitrogen. The grade is specially developed for electronic tubing used in the production of micro-chips. Other applications are found in the food and drink as well as pharmaceutical industries where a very clean steel is required.
