Bohler-Uddeholm WEARTEC SF Cold Work Tool Steel  (discontinued **)
Categories: Metal; Ferrous Metal; Alloy Steel; Chrome-moly Steel; Tool Steel; Cold Work Steel

Material Notes: Chromium-molybdenum-vanadium alloyed steel

The WEARTEC SF steel grade is a very highly alloyed spray formed cold work tool steel with a combination of extremely high wear resistance and a good resistance to cracking. WEARTEC SF is suitable for rolls and rotary knives with very high demands on abrasive wear resistance and carbide applications requiring toughness.

WEARTEC SF is characterized by:

  • Excellent abrasive wear resistance
  • High compressive strength
  • Good toughness
  • Good dimensional stability at heat treatment and in service
  • Very good through hardening properties
  • Very good resistance to tempering back
  • Good WEDM properties
  • Good surface treatment properties
