Tra-Con Tra-Bond 832-5 Flexible Epoxy
Categories: Polymer; Adhesive; Thermoset; Epoxy

Material Notes: TRA-BOND 832-5 is a flexible two component epoxy which is intended for bonding materials with mis-matched coefficients of expansion. It exhibits flexibility associated with polyurethanes but does not have the moisture sensitivity which usually creates bubbles during the application and cure of urethanes. TRA-BOND 832-5 has been found to be useful in such applications as bonding optical lenses in aluminum housings. As an example two three-inch long glass microscope slides were bonded to opposite sides of a 0.064 inch thick piece of aluminum and the sandwich was cycled from -75°C to 125°C ten times with no spalling of the glass or bond failure.
