Meyors Chemical Rubber Accelerator MBT (M) Granule
Categories: Other Engineering Material

Material Notes: Product Code: MSHQD -AC001-00GT
Chemical Name: 2-mercaptobenzothiazole
Trade Name: Rubber Accelerator MBT (M)
CAS No.: 149-30-4
Molecular Formula: C7H5NS2

Typical Properties: It is yellow granule with little osmyl and taste bitter. The density is 1.42-1.52.it is soluble in ethyl acetate, ethanol, solution of NaOH and Na2CO3, insoluble in benzene, water and gasoline. Lower explosion limit is 21g/m3.

Recommended Applications: In NR compounds, MBT based vulcanization systems exhibit less reversion upon overcure than other systems. Vulcanizate obtained with MBT tend to have a relatively low modulus but very good aging properties. To achieve a faster cure and a higher modulus. MBT can be boosted by the use of secondary accelerators, such as ZBEC, ZDEC, TMTD or DPG. For the vulcanization of EPDM or IIR rubbers, MBT is a well established component of many existing vulcanization systems. MBT also finds application in latex form cure systems. It is non-staining and non-discoloring.
