Material Notes: Properties and applications: ACEMATT OP 278 is an organic matting agent based on Methylmethacrylate and Styrene(copolymer). Application benefits and achievable characteristics in films:
    low residual gloss
  • pleasant surface roughness
  • attractive surface structure
  • low coefficient of friction
Benefits during film processing:
  • low torque
  • acceleration of gelling
  • high elasticity of film preserved
ACEMATT OP 278 is a polymeric matting agent. Methylmethacrylate, Butylacrylate and Styrene are the raw material used to manufacture this copolymer. The particle size of the incorporated matting particle is about 7µm. At a concentration of 1.0% b.w., films are effectively matted. The resulting gloss is very low. The roughness results in a desired grip and appealing surface structure. This matting agent is especially recommended for films based on PVC, ABS and PUR. It can be compounded during the premix step.
