Characterization: Acclaim 2220N polyol is a 2,250-molecular-weight diol. Properties / Applications: Acclaim 2220N polyol is a high-performance, low-monol polyether that is prepared with Covestro's proprietary IMPACT™ technology, using a patented organo-metallic propoxylation catalyst. The terminal end-groups have a high percentage of primary hydroxyl end-groups giving a relatively high reactivity with isocyanates. Because this product is not acidified, care must be taken using it in isocyanate- terminated prepolymers. Acclaim 2220N polyol is used in polyurethane and other urethane applications, including cast elastomers, sealants, adhesives, epoxy flexibilizers, defoamers, reaction injection molding (RIM), lubricants, crude oil de-emulsifiers, and plasticizers. This polyol contains extremely low levels of monol. In some polyurethane systems, formulation changes, such as reducing the cross-linking level or changing the hard-segment content, may be necessary to maximize the benefits of using Acclaim polyols. As with any product, the use of Acclaim 2220N polyol in a given application must be tested (including but not limited to field testing) in advance by the user to determine suitability.
