Borealis PP4821 Polypropylene Copolymer
Categories: Polymer; Thermoplastic; Polypropylene (PP); Polypropylene Copolymer

Material Notes: PP4821 is a thermoplastic, halogen-free, insulation compound based on a polypropylene copolymer. The composition of PP4821 is based on the elements Carbon and Hydrogen. Compounds based on these elements will therefore be the only significant constituents of the fumes due to the combustion of this product. Other elements may be present in concentrations less than 0.1%

Typical characteristics:

  • Superb system ageing compatibility
  • Processability on most PVC/PE extrusion equipment
  • Low water permeability
  • Pre-drying not required
Applications:
  • 70°C rated insulation for building wires (installation cables)
  • Power cables
  • Flexible cords
It can be used in areas sensitive to smoke or corrosive and toxic combustion products. PP4821 is stabilized for use in contact with copper.

Specifications: PP4821 is expected to meet the applicable requirements included in the below mentioned standards provided it is processed using sound material handling and processing practices as well as appropriate testing procedures.
