Akro-Plastic Akrotek® PK-VM (4774) PK Conditioned
Categories: Polymer; Thermoplastic; Polyketone

Material Notes: The renaissance of this polymer came about with an environmental program aimed at reducing greenhouse gases. The comonomer is CO (carbon monoxide), an industrial „waste” gas, which forms an unusual product when bonding with the polymer. The terpolymer, which forms the basis of most AKROTEK® PK formulations when using the monomers ethylene and propylene, currently has the greatest significance. AKRO-PLASTIC GmbH produces two product families from this base polymer (HM = normal flow and VM = very easy-flowing), based on the former portfolio of the Shell AG, from non-reinforced to high-glass-fibre-reinforced standards, from flame-retardant to carbon-fibre-reinforced custom grades

The characteristic properties of these properties include:

  • excellent dynamic resilience
  • good barrier properties
  • good tribological properties
  • high resistance to chemicals
  • good hydrolysis resistance
  • shorter cycle times
Application areas:
  • Industry
  • Automotive industry
  • Electronics/Electrical
