Anocast Silica-filled Epoxy Polymer Composite  (discontinued **)
Categories: Polymer; Thermoset; Epoxy; Filled/Reinforced Thermoset

Material Notes: Composition is 92% silica and 8% epoxy. The primary application of Anocast is for vibration damping. Features better vibration dampening than metals and natural stone; better thermal stability than metal structures; resistance to corrosive materials and environments; dimensional stability (retention of finished flatness and perpendicularity); ability to embed inserts, rails, plates, recessed pockets and raised bosses; a room temperature casting process; and a finish surface of the casting that is an exact replica of the mold surface.

Loss factor is 0.013 at 2696 Hz (Mode 1) and 0.009 at 6622 Hz (Mode 2) - far higher than steel, cast iron, or aluminum.

Information provided by Anocast, a Rockwell Automation Business.
