Master Bond MB297 Ethyl Cyanoacrylate Adhesive System
Categories: Polymer; Adhesive; Thermoset; Acrylic/Cyanoacrylate Adhesive

Material Notes: Key Features:
  • One component, non-mix system
  • Top level adhesion to a wide variety of substrates
  • Fast setting with rapid fixture time
  • Industrial grade
Product Description: Master Bond MB297 is a single component ethyl cyanoacrylate adhesive. MB297 is a high strength, rapid curing general purpose type cyanoacrylate system. MB297 has a higher viscosity (2,200-2,400 cps) and a slightly longer open time than low viscosity counterparts. Similar to other types of “super glue”, MB297 cures very rapidly with the rate of cure dependent upon the humidity—the higher it is, the faster the cure. Because curing is normally fast, minimal contact pressure is usually sufficient for bonding. It must be emphasized that this high strength system requires no heating or mixing. It typically sets up within 20-50 seconds depending upon the humidity and the substrates. The bond strength is exceptionally high in the shear mode. MB297 bonds well to a variety of substrates, especially to plastics, rubbers and metals. It has reasonably good chemical resistance, especially to cleaning agents. (See chemical resistance table.) The service temperature range for this system is -60°F to +250°F. MB297 is a versatile, high performance, industrial grade cyanoacrylate that can be used in a wide array of different applications in the aerospace, electronic, OEM, electrical, optical and R&D industries.

Product Advantages:

  • Rapid curing at room temperature; usually sets up within 1 minute
  • No heating or mixing
  • Contact pressure usually sufficient for fixturing
  • Bonds well to a wide variety of substrates
  • Higher viscosity
