Material Notes: Universal Ti 5Al-2.5Sn titanium alloy is easily joined with the gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc or resistance welding processes. 100% joint efficiency can be obtained provided proper shielding procedures are used. Alloy 4953 is often employed for applications where weldability and oxidation resistance is of major interest. Good high temperature strength and stability are trademarks of this alloy.
