| Bayhydur XP 2451/1 is a hydrophilic aliphatic polyisocyanate based on hexamethylene diisocyanate (HDI). It is suitable as the hardener component in the formulation of water-reducible two-component coatings, top coats and sealers also as an additive to enhance the property profile of waterborne coating systems. Properties / Applications: Because of its hydrophilic character, Bayhydur XP 2451/1 can be easily emulsified in the aqueous phase. It is used mainly as the crosslinking agent for aqueous polyol binders (Bayhydrol®). Bayhydur XP 2451/1 can also be added to conventional OH-free dispersions to improve their property profiles. As with any product, use of Bayhydur XP 2451/1 in a given application must be tested (including but not limited to field testing) in advance by the user to determine suitability.
