Bynel® Series 3100 resins are acid/acrylate-modified ethylene vinyl acetate polymers. They are available in pellet form for use in conventional extrusion and coextrusion equipment designed to process polyethylene (PE) resins. Applications: Bynel® 3101, 3120, and E326 adhere to a wide variety of materials. They are most often used to adhere to PE, acid copolymers, and ionomers. In addition, Bynel® 3101 and Bynel® 3120 bond to PVDC. Bynel® 3101 is also useful in adhering to polyester. Bynel® E326 also bonds to paper. The use of Bynel® Series 3100 resins can be advantageous in applications where acid-containing polymers, such as acid copolymers or ionomers, are to be combined with PVDC. Bynel® 3101, 3120, and E326 can be used in coextrusion processes including: blown film, cast film/sheet, extrusion coating, thermal lamination. Bynel® 3101 and Bynel® 3120 can also be used in blow molding. Physical properties of Bynel® Series 3100 resins are typical of EVA resins with similar density and melt index values. The rheology characteristics of each grade are different, so one may be better suited than the others to a particular extrusion process. Information provided by DuPont Packaging Polymers.
