Latrobe LSS™ 2714 Hot Work Tool Steel (DIN 1.2714 mod)
Categories: Metal; Ferrous Metal; Alloy Steel; Tool Steel; Hot Work Steel

Material Notes: TLS 2714 is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum hot work steel that exhibits high impact toughness and good resistance to softening at elevated temperature. The high nickel content imparts the toughness as well as good through-hardening (hardenability) in large section thicknesses. The steel also exhibits good resistance to thermal shock and thermal fatigue cracking, and relatively small dimensional changes during hardening.

Information Provided by Timken Latrobe Steel.

Timken sold Latrobe in December 2006. They are now Latrobe Specialty Steels Co.
