Sandvik 9RU10 Spring Wire
Categories: Metal; Ferrous Metal; Special-Purpose Steel; Stainless Steel; Precipitation Hardening Stainless

Material Notes: Sandvik 9RU10 is a precipitation-hardenable steel of type 17Cr/7Ni PH. Compared with the other Sandvik spring wire grades Sandvik 9RU10 has:
  • Excellent mechanical properties; very high tensile strength and hardness levels can be achieved
  • Corrosion resistance comparable to ASTM 304L or ASTM 316L depending on condition
  • Retained mechanical properties at temperatures up to at least 400°C (750°F)
  • Very good relaxation properties
  • Good weldability
  • Springs coiled from Sandvik 9RU10 wire virtually retain their original form after tempering - for example, as loops and hooks, whereas springs made from conventional 18/8 steels generally suffer deformation, which has to be allowed for when coiling.

    Service temperature: -200 to 350°C (-330 to 660°F)
