Master Bond adhesives
Master Bond UV15-7TK1A One Component, Paste Consistency UV Curable Adhesive  (discontinued **)
Categories: Polymer; Thermoset

Material Notes: Replaced by UV15-7TK1ANV

Key Features:

  • Stays in place when applied
  • Superb adhesive, sealant
  • Superior physical strength properties
  • Low shrinkage upon curing
Product Description: Master Bond UV15-7TK1A is a one component UV curable polymer system with a paste consistency for high performance bonding, sealing and special encapsulation. This system is 100% reactive and does not contain any solvents or diluents. Its most salient features include superior physical strength properties, low shrinkage upon curing and enhanced non-yellowing stability. UV15-7TK1A offers very good chemical resistance to water, fuels, and oils, among others. It exhibits an exceptional combination of properties including outstanding durability, and good electrical insulation properties, along with fine thermal cycling capabilities. UV15-7TK1A bonds well to a wide variety of substrates including glass, metals and plastics, including polycarbonates, acrylics and polyester films. UV15-7TK1A is translucent and has a service temperature range of -80°F to +300°F. Master Bond UV15-7TK1A system is not oxygen inhibited and cures readily in 10-20 seconds when exposed to a UV light source emitting at a wavelength of 320-365 nm with an energy output of 20 milliwatts/cm². No solvents or vapors are released during the curing process. The rate of cure depends upon the compound’s distance from the light source, the thickness of the section and, of course, the intensity of the light source. It should be noted that the system can cure in sections up to 1/8 inch. However, when bonding, sections of a few thousandths of an inch are more than adequate. This system can be used in optical, fiberoptic, electronic, laser, microelectronic and semiconductor applications.

Product Advantages:

  • One component system; no mixing needed
  • Fast curing mechanism upon exposure to UV light
  • No air inhibition while curing; no special inert atmosphere required
  • Good dimensional stability and electrical insulation properties
  • High bond strength to many substrates
  • Paste-like consistency
