A machinable and hardenable alloy/steel bonded titanium carbide. The ultra-hard, rounded titanium carbide grains are uniformly distributed throughout a hardenable steel alloy matrix. Fabrication in the annealed state is accomplished with ordinary tools and equipment, followed by conventional heat treatment to obtain maximum hardness. Used for high-production tooling, highly wear resistant parts, resistance to environmental attack, high temperatures and severe corrosion, and for additional toughness.Information provided by Reade Advanced Materials. |
