Polymer Tailoring APP 102 Ammonium Polyphosphate
Categories: Other Engineering Material; Additive/Filler for Polymer

Material Notes: App 102 is our high molecular weight ammonium polyphosphate offering. Surface coated with silane, it exhibits very low water solubility for ease of processing.
  • Extremely low water solubility
  • Extremely low viscosity in aqueous suspensions
  • High heat stability
  • Reduced viscosity in PU polyol suspensions
  • Low acid number
Typical Applications: APP 102 is ideally suited for intumescent coatings and polyurethane foams where ammonium polyphosphates have traditionally been employed. For intumescent coatings, it is particularly suitable as an “acid donor”, because of its low water solubility. For polyurethane foams, it is used as a halogen-free flame retardant for PU rigid foams, PU rigid integral foams and PU/Polyester flexible foams.
