LORD Chemlok® 6227 adhesive is a heat-activated adhesive which will bond a variety of elastomers to metal and plastic substrates during vulcanization of the elastomer. It is formulated without heavy metals and composed of a mixture of polymers and heat-reactive components in an organic solvent system. In some circumstances, Chemlok 6227 adhesive may be used as a single coat adhesive. For general use, it should be used in combination with an appropriate metal primer such as Chemosil® 211 primer. When used with Chemosil 211 primer, the environmental resistance of the final bond will be enhanced. Features: bonds compounds based on natural rubber (NR), polyisoprene (IR), styrene-butadiene (SBR), polybutadiene (BR), polychloroprene (CR), nitrile (NBR), and butyl (IIR) elastomers to most metals, alloys and polar polymeric substrates. applies easily by spray, dip, brush or roll coat methods. accommodates a wide range of processing conditions, including extended prebake and elevated vulcanization temperatures. provides superior resistance to heat and salt spray.
