Manganin 43 is a Copper-Manganese-Nickel alloy with very low thermal electromotive force (emf) vs. Copper. This fact makes it useful in electrical circuits, especially D.C. , where a spurious thermal emf could cause malfunctioning of electronic equipment. The components, in which Manganin 43 is used, normally operate at room temperature. Therefore its temperature coefficient of resistance is controlled to be low over a range of 15°C to 35°C. Manganin 43 is used for manufacturing resistance standards, precision wire wound resistors, potentiometers, shunts and other electrical and electronic components. Information provided by Sandvik |
