Product highlights: BLACK PEARLS 4350 specialty carbon black is a High Purity Furnace Black that meets the following purity requirements as required by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA): Total polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) not to exceed 0.5 parts per million (ppm) and Benzo[a]pyrene not to exceed 5.0 parts per billion (ppb). As a result of a new Food Contact Notification (FCN) submitted by Cabot to FDA (FCN 1789), BLACK PEARLS 4350 can be used in various food contact applications, including: as a component of adhesives; as a colorant in resinous and polymeric coatings; as a colorant in paper and paperboard in contact with aqueous and fatty foods; as a colorant in paper and paperboard in contact with dry foods; and as a colorant for polymers. It is to be used at levels not to exceed the minimum required to accomplish the intended technical effect. It is not for use in contact with infant formula and human milk. Key applications: BLACK PEARLS 4350 specialty carbon black can be used in various food contact applications where FDA requirements are needed.
