Wacker Wacker® E35 100 Silicone Emulsion
Categories: Polymer; Thermoset; Silicone

Material Notes: Product description: E35 100 is a carefully formulated emulsion of dimethyl silicone fluids and water. It is primarily designed for use in applications for furniture polish, cosmetic, textile finishing, and other specialty formulations. E35 100 contains sodium nitrite as a corrosion inhibitor. E35 100 should not be used in contact with amines.

Special features:

  • Superior stability under the most severe storage and operating conditions
  • Ultrafine particle size
  • Ease and versatility of application
  • Chemical inertness
  • Absence of fire hazard
Application: In mold release applications, E35 100 is normally diluted to 0.5% - 2.5%. However, in a polish or specialty product formulation, E35 100 is normally used in its concentrated form. A furniture polish formulator should use a silicone emulsion system that provides high gloss and ease of application and rubout. Many times these features are best achieved by blending E35 100 together with another emulsion is in the Wacker® E35 series to get a combination of properties. Normally, a higher viscosity type silicone will give high gloss and durability, while the lower viscosity emulsions are easier to apply and rubout. In addition, a suitable preservative should be incorporated into all water-based formulations to help retard the growth of bacteria.
