Master Bond UV15-42C One Component, Optically Clear, Tough UV Curable System
Categories: Polymer; Thermoset

Material Notes: Key Features:
  • Convenient handling
  • Translucent
  • Excellent toughness
  • Non-drip paste viscosity
  • Remarkable bonding capabilities
  • Exceptionally fast curing
Product Description: Master Bond UV15-42C is a non-sagging paste type UV curable system with outstanding toughness as well as being specially formulated to optimize bonding properties. It is highly resistant to thermal cycling along with thermal and mechanical shocks while retaining excellent dimensional stability. As previously mentioned, UV15-42C is a superlative adhesive that bonds well to a wide variety of substrates, including glass, metals, composites and many plastics, particularly polycarbonates and acrylics. It is highly resistant to water, oils, cleaning agents, acids and bases. It is a high caliber electrical insulator and has exceptionally low shrinkage upon curing. UV15-42C is not oxygen inhibited and will cure in thicknesses up to ¼ inch. The service temperature range for this system is -65°F to +300°F. Master Bond UV15-42C generally cures readily in 10-30 seconds when exposed to a UV light source emitting at a wavelength of 320-365 nm with an energy output as low as 20-40 milliwatts/cm². The rate of cure depends upon the system’s distance from the light source, the thickness of the section and of course the intensity of the light source. However, when bonding, sections of a few thousandths of an inch are more than adequate. UV15-42C is particularly useful in fiber-optic, optical, electronic, aerospace and specialty OEM applications where exemplary adhesion, exceptional toughness along with fine dimensional stability are advantageous.

Product Advantages:

  • One component system, no mixing needed
  • Very fast curing upon exposure to UV light at ambient temperatures
  • No oxygen inhibition
  • Convenient paste viscosity, non-drip application feature
  • Superlative bonding strength, especially to glass, polycarbonates and acrylics
  • Solid dimensional stability
  • Sterling electrical insulator
