LKAB Minerals FordaCal
Categories: Ceramic

Material Notes: The Fordacal product range is in the form of marble.

The mineralogical nature of Fordacal marble powders coupled with a granular particle shape and carefully controlled particle size distribution make it ideal for a variety of applications. The major advantages of Fordacal is excellent color consistency and high brightness. Applications:

  • Very fine grades equivalent to precipitated CaCO3 are used in a number of sealant applications to modify rheology and in surface coatings to extend the pigment blend without affecting gloss levels.
  • Fine to medium particle size ground grades are used in a variety of applications where color is paramount including oral hygiene products, household products and decorative coating applications in paints and sealants.
  • Cut grades are manufactured to have a specific particle size distribution with low fines which can contribute to high viscosity. These products are used widely in applications where process viscosity is a factor such as PVC plastisols.
