Materion SupremEX® 620ZF Aluminum - Silicon Carbide Metal Matrix Composite, T4 AC, Rolled Sheet
Categories: Metal; Metal Matrix Composite; Nonferrous Metal; Aluminum Alloy

Material Notes: SupremEX 620ZF is a high-quality aerospace-grade aluminum alloy (6063) reinforced with 20 vol.% silicon carbide particles which produces a metal matrix composite (MMC). The MMC is manufactured via a powder metallurgy route using a mechanical alloying process to ensure a homogeneous reinforcement distribution. This provides a refined grain structure, which enhances mechanical properties. SupremEX 620ZF is heat treatable to offer high strength and modulus for structural applications. Designation – 6063/SiC/20p (0.7µm)

Advantages

  • Weight saving
