LyondellBasell Montell 0800 Polybutene  (discontinued **)
Categories: Polymer; Thermoplastic; Polybutene

Material Notes:
Key Features: highly isotactic, semi-crystalline homopolymer, good creep resistance, good environmental crack resistance, miscible with polypropylenes, FDA acceptable

Applications: concrete carrier

Meets FDA requirements in 21 CFR 175.105 for indirect food contact.

Description: Polybutene-1 PB 0800 is a highly isotactic, seim-crystalline homopolymer which can be used where creep resistnace, environmental stress crack resistance and elevated temperature performance are key requirements. This polymer is miscible with polypropylenes due to its similar molecular structure. In bends with polyethylenes it is immiscible but easily dispersible. It is mainly used as a concentrate carrier and in hot adhesives where service temperatures, high strength and/or long open time are required. This copolymer meets FDA requirements for direct food contact under regulation 21 CFR 177.1570.

Information provided by Montell Polyolefins.

LyondellBasell is the successor company to Montell.
