Applications:AL 716 filler metal is generally used to join aluminum and aluminum alloys. It can be used to join titanium or aluminum to dissimilar metals. When joining to dissimilar metals thought should be given to the galvanic potential between the metals to avoid corrosion problems. The corrosion resistance of AL 716 is good. To maintain joint integrity on heat treatable aluminums, the solution temperature must be below the solidus of the filler metal. Characteristics:AL 716 is a general purpose brazing filler metal for use with brazeable aluminums in all types of brazing processes. To prevent liquation, it is recommended that the parts be heated rapidly through the solidus-liquidus temperature range. Specifications:AL 716 meets the requirements for the following specifications-Aluminum Association (AA) 4145, American Welding Society (AWS) A5.8 BAISi-3 Information provided by Lucas-Milhaupt, Inc. |
