EPDM coated polyester fabric combines the following properties: EPDM rubber has very good resistance to weather, heat, cold, ozone, aging, acids, polar solvents (water, ketones, alcohols, glycols). Good dielectric strength. Low resistance to fuels, chlorinated, aromatic or aliphatic solvents, petroleum derivatives and oils. Low resistance to fire. Flame spread is low. Polyester is a synthetic fiber that ranks first in the world in terms of production. It is a linear polymer whose mass includes a majority (80% minimum) of ester functions and terephthalic acid. Polyester yarn is light and flexible. It is resistant to ultraviolet radiation. Polyester fabric is hardly inflammable. It softens around 245°C, and melts around 250°C. It retains a good shape memory and can therefore be used in the composition of crease-resistant fabrics. Moreover, an adequate weaving also allows a good evacuation of heat.
