Product Description: SAF Antifoams are carefully formulated antifoams based on dimethylsiloxane fluid. These antifoams are specifically formulated to prevent foams from forming and keep the system non-foaming with a quick knock down reaction. The silicone content of the SAF series ranges from 5% - 100% and is emulsified with non-ionic grade emulsifiers. The following antifoams have a specific gravity of approximately 1.01 and the emulsions contain a freeze/thaw stability of 4 cycles minimum. Food grade antifoams are available and listed below (in many food applications, the silicone content must not exceed 10 parts per million to be acceptable for direct food contact). SAF 201 and 202 antifoams were designed for non-aqueous systems. Applications: SAF Series Antifoams were formulated to be used as received or diluted to specific concentrations before application. When evaluating these antifoams, an ideal starting charge of 10 ppm “active or real”. silicone is recommended then, if necessary, adjust the concentration to your optimum level for the best foam control. Remember that antifoams should always be added to most types of systems before foaming occurs. To produce the optimum foam control it is recommended that the antifoam be entirely dispersed into the foaming system by pre-diluting or ensuring adequate agitation to disperse the antifoam.
