Akrochem AKROSORBâ„¢ 19251 -72% TAIC Dispersion
Categories: Other Engineering Material

Material Notes: Product Description: Akrosorb 19251 is a dry powdered dispersion of TAIC absorbed on a synthetic calcium silicate, which is used in conjunction with peroxides to improve crosslink performance. This powdered form offers the compounder an easier, more accurate means of handling and weighing liquid products.

Applications: Akrosorb 19251 (72% TAIC) is an effective coagent for peroxide cured polymers especially saturated and partially saturated backbone types like EPDM, CPE, EVA, FKM and HNBR. Being a type two coagent, TAIC has minimal effect on scorch compared to type one c-agents like acrylated and imide functional co-agents (TMPTMA, ZDA, HVA-2, etc.). Utilizing Akrosorb 19251 will provide the following benefits: lower compression set, higher modulus, higher hardness, lower compound viscosity and improved oil, fuel and chemical resistance. A typical loading of Akrosorb 19251 is between 0.70 phr - 4.20 phr (0.5 - 3.0 active TAIC).

Advantages: Polymer bound or encapsulated dispersions are a proven means of upgrading plant safety, efficiency, quality & raw material control. They eliminate any irritating dust, as well as other potential hazards in handling powders in the plant. The physical form is easy to handle and weigh accurately. As a dispersion, better uniformity of the mix at low process temperatures are possible.
