Yttrium (Y) is a rare earth element that is soft, silver-metallic and lustrous. In its pure form, Yttrium is relatively stable in air in bulk form and very unstable when divided. Yttrium forms a water-insoluble fluoride, hydroxide, and oxalate. However Yttrium bromide, chloride, iodide, nitrate, and sulfate are soluble to water. Applications: Hydrides are widely used in organic chemistry and thin film deposition. Molecular Formula: YH2 Alfa Chemistry Materials product group: Metal Manufacturer data sheet |
