DuBois Thermo-Quench Quenching and Tempering Salt
Categories: Ceramic; Fluid; Quenchant

Material Notes: Most widely used quench salt for more than a decade. This eutectic nitrate/nitrite mixture is highly recommended for the interrupted or isothermal quenching of austenitized steels. Slightly higher, but narrower melt range than Low Temp Draw Salt, with similarly wide working range. Processes that benefit substantially from thermo-Quench include austempering, martempering, marquenching; it is also suitable for tempering or drawing hardened steels. Exceptionally fluid and water-soluble, with low melt point and high thermal conductivity, and high thermal stability. cooling rates (with water addition) are comparable to good quenching oils. Formulated per Mil-S-10699-B, Class 1. (290 Parkettes)

Information provided by Heatbath Corporation - Park Metallurgical.

Heatbath/Park has been acquired by DuBois Chemicals.
