RTV566 silicone rubber compounds have been proven to perform well as protective coatings, and are normally suitable for potential applications in general aviation, satellites, rockets and spacecraft. When applied, the part A base compound is supplied ready to use with the part B curing agent. These products have been shown to exhibit excellent adhesion capabilities with primers. RTV566 silicone rubber compounds require a primer in order to bond to nonsilicone surfaces. This line of RTV products has the advantage of typically providing excellent release properties and curing at room temperature. RTV566 silicone elastomer compounds offer retention of elastomeric properties with the following temperature ranges: from -115° C (-175° F) up to 260° C (500° F) continuously and up to 316° C (600° F) for short periods of time. Potential applications for RTV566 silicone elastomer compounds include: Interior adhesives and sealants , Exterior adhesive and sealants, Cast in place heat shielding, Thermal insulation, Protective coatings, Encapsulants Potting.
