A. Schulman Gapex® RPP30EA18BK 30% Fiberglass Reinforced, Heat-Stabilized, Homopolymer Polypropylene
Categories: Polymer; Thermoplastic; Polypropylene (PP); Polypropylene with 30% Glass Fiber Filler

Material Notes: 30% Fiberglass Reinforced, Heat-Stabilized, Homopolymer Polypropylene

Description: Precolored black

Applications: Primary end use is for window tracks.

Specifications: Meets/exceeds Ford Engineering Material Specification GMP.PP.017

Comments:
Thermal Oxidative Stability (150°C): >500 hrs. as per ASTM D3012; GMP.PP.017 Specification: 168 Min.
Fiberglass Content: 30.0% as per ASTM D3012; GMP.PP.017 Specification: 336 Min.
Material Pre-dry: Normally it is not necessary to pre-dry this material. However, if conditions dictate drying to optimize material properties and part appearance then dry in a desiccant dryer at 180°F for 2-3 hours or 160°F for >4 hours.
Manifolds: Maintain manifolds, runners and tips 10 to 20°F above the front one temperature to allow easier filling. (Gate drool is best eliminated using screw decompression rather than reducing tip temperature.)
Back Pressure (Range): 20-50 psi. Injection Speed: medium to slow > depending on surface appearance. Screw Speed: medium. Injection Pressure: Adjust to just above a short shot. Injection Time: Adjust to just above a short shot. Cushion (Range): 0.2-0.5 in. Nozzle Type: Free flowing/Standard.
Some conditions may have to be altered to obtain acceptable parts. Please do not run too cold, molded in stress and rough surface may become a problem. If you must run below melt or temperatures recommended for dimensional precision you may compromise impact and esthetics. Retest parts to confirm performance.
