Cabot ELFTEX® TP Specialty Carbon Black
Categories: Other Engineering Material; Additive/Filler for Polymer

Material Notes: ELFTEX TP specialty carbon black is the industry standard for UV protection in demanding plastic applications where superior cleanliness is required.

Product highlights: ELFTEX® P100 specialty carbon black is a p-type carbon black suitable for use in pressure pipe applications, particularly those that follow ISO4427 and ISO4437 standards that specify maximum particle size, sulfur content and dispersion requirements. P-type carbon blacks are specialty blacks with narrow product specifications for applications requiring exceptional UV performance and excellent physical and chemical cleanliness.

Key applications: ELFTEX TP specialty black belongs to the “P-TYPE” family. P-type carbon blacks are specialty blacks with tight product specifications in order to meet stringent performance requirements for critical applications requiring exceptional UV performance and cleanliness. Specifically, Cabot’s ELFTEX TP specialty carbon black meets industry requirements for small particle size and superior chemical and physical purity including extremely low toluene extract and sulfur as well as low grit and ash. If you are designing and processing applications such as wire and cable jacketing, plastic pressure pipe, geomembranes, or any other plastic products requiring excellent UV protection, you appreciate the clear advantages delivered by ELFTEX TP specialty carbon black. Performance Features:

  • Excellent UV absorption
  • Meets coefficient of absorption (COA) requirement for telecom jacketing
  • Small particle size for pressure pipe and cable jacketing applications
  • Excellent chemical and physical cleanliness
  • Excellent organoleptic properties
  • Low compound moisture absorption
  • Good processability for smoother surfaces
Typical Applications: Elftex TP specialty carbon black offers excellent UV performance, high dispersibility and masterbatch dilutability as well as high cleanliness for a range of applications:
Pipe: Pressure pipe for potable water and gas; Irrigation pipe
Wire and cable: Telecom jacketing; Power cable jacketing
Geomembranes
