Used for screw machine products requiring some cold formability (i.e. crimping, knurling) Applications: The 3450 is used for screw machine applications requiring the ability to be cold formed either during, or subsequent to, machining. The material can be thread rolled, knurled, bent, flared, swaged or staked. Alloy 3450 exhibits somewhat superior ductility in relation to comparable (i.e. alloy 3530) alloys. Typical applications include valve terms, adapters, couplings, gears, pinions, flare fittings. Information Provided by Mueller Industries Inc. |
