Homopolymeric Polypropylene has a very low density and a very high heat deflection temperature in the group of polyolefins. The chemical resistance is very high, but the oxidation resistance is in the lower range. Due to the very low dielectric loss factor, high-frequency welding is not possible. However, all other appropriate welding procedures should work without problems. The continuous operating temperature for PP in natural color ranges between -22 °F and approximately +190 °F. Features: Low density; High heat resistance; High tensile strength; High surface strength; Very high chemical resistance; Low oxidation resistance; Low abrasion resistance; Brittle in the coldness; HF-welding not possible; Natural color is not weather resistant Applications: Pumps; Valves; Gaskets; Supporting stands for the coating industry; Spacer for the electroplating; Parts for toys Information provided by GEHR Plastics, Inc. |
