| General Description DEXRON® is a specification for General Motors vehicles, but many foreign manufactures specify a DEXRON approved ATF as well. DEXRON-III can be used in transmissions that call for DEXRON-IIE or DEXRON-II. Most Ford vehicles manufactured between 1980 and 1999 specify a MERCON ATF. ATFs that meet DEXRON-III requirements usually meet the MERCON requirements as well. Chevron ATF DEXRON®-II/MERCON® is DEXRON®-III and MERCON® approved and is formulated with special base oil for exceptional protection from heat, oxidation and wear. Applications Chevron Automatic Transmission Fluid DEXRONIII/MERCON is designed for use in General Motors Corporation transmissions that specify a DEXRON-!!!, DEXRON-II fo DEXRON-IIE fluid and Ford Motor company transmissions that require a MERCON fluid. It is an excellent choice in any transmission where the manufacturer recommends a DEXRON or MERCON qualified product. It is suitable for use in Mercedes Benz passenger car automatic transmissions and Voith and ZF truck transmissions. It is also recommended for transmissions, power steering systems, and hydraulic systems requiring a DEXRON-III, Allison C4 or Caterpillar TO-2 fluid. Chevron Automatic Transmission Fluid DEXRON-III/MERCON is also used as a light oil in compressors, pumps, and hydraulic systems. |
