Mylar® WRL63 is a biaxially oriented polyester (OPET) film with a modified ethylene acrylate heat seal layer. It provides peelable seal over a broad temperature range to a number of bottles or containers including PET, PVC, PS, PE, and PP. Mylar® WRL63 is a general purpose sealant product designed to produce good heat seals to substrates including polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), amorphous polyester (APET, also PETG), semi-crystalline polyester (CPET), polyester coated paperboard, polyvinylchloride (PVC), and polystyrene (HIPS). Mylar® WRL63 has low heat seal initiation temperature and can be sealed over a wide temperature range. This allows good seals to be made at higher line speeds (or using lower sealing temperatures). Peelability and cleanness of the peel make Mylar® WRL63 ideal for the dairy market and the induction seal cap liner market. FDA Food Contact Status - The above mentioned films comply with Food and Drug Administration Regulations 21 CFR 177.1630 -- Polyethylene Phthalate Polymers, subject to the limitations and requirements therein. This film may be used in contact with food under Conditions of Use C through H (as described in Table 2 of 21 CFR 176.170(c)), subject to the finished food-contact article meeting the extractive limitations under the intended conditions of use, as shown in paragraph (c) of the Regulation. The conditions of use include hot fill or pasteurized above 150°F, refrigerated storage, frozen storage, and ready prepared foods intended to be reheated in container at time of use.
