Product Description: Carnauba Wax is a natural occurring wax, extracted from the Carnauba Palm, which grows in Northern Brazil. It is very hard and has good electrical properties. It is used in rubber compounding (1-2%) to improve the surface of molded goods, as a mold release, and as a polish for hard rubber goods. Carnauba Wax is especially effective as an internal mold release agent in compounds of all types of fluorocarbon elastomers. It does not affect processing safety, cure rate or cured physical properties and does not interfere with adhesion to metal when used at typical levels (up to 2 phr). Carnauba Wax is available in flaked or powdered forms, with our #3 NC Flake being the most widely used. Carnauba wax complies with F.D.A. regulations for use as indirect or direct food additives described in Code of Federal Regulations, Title 21, Section 184.1978 Direct food substances GRAS.Information provided by Akrochem Corporation |
