Alfa Chemistry Materials Holmium Oxide
Material Notes: Ho2O3 has wide band gap of 5.3eV and its color appears different depending on lighting conditions. Glass containing holmium oxide and holmium oxide solutions have sharp optical absorption peaks in the spectral range 200-900 nm, and are used as a calibration standard for some optical spectrophotometers.

Applications: Halide Lamps; Ceramics; Crystal dopant; Optical fiber; Phosphors, also called Holmia, has specialized uses in ceramics, glass, phosphors and metal halide lamp, and dopant to garnet laser. Holmium can absorb fission-bred neutrons, it is also used in nuclear reactors to keep atomic chain reaction from running out of control.

Solubility: water insoluble, soluble in acid.Insoluble in water, moderately soluble in strong mineral acids

Molecular Formula: Ho2O3

Alfa Chemistry Materials product group: Metal
