CeramTec SL200B Silicon Nitride
Categories: Ceramic; Nitride

Material Notes: SL200B ceramic material was designed especially for use in the field of welding technology. SL200B is a 100 bar gas-pressure sintered silicon nitride (Si3N4) with impressive properties. It boasts decisive advantages compared to zirconium oxide or even metal: extreme hardness and flexural strength, a high level of thermal shock resistance, electrical insulation, temperature resistance, and high tensile and compressive strength make SL200B silicon nitride ceramics a material that withstands the working conditions of projection welding and ensures a significantly longer service life. For comparison: while commonly used ceramic welding pins exhibit service lives 40 times that of metal, the service life of SL200B silicon nitride ceramics is an additional five times greater than that of centering pins made from zirconium oxide.
