Konson MBTS-80 Masterbatch
Categories: Other Engineering Material; Additive/Filler for Polymer

Material Notes: Composition: 80% dibenzothiazyl disulphide, 20% EPDM/EVA binder and dispersing agents

Use Characteristics: Konson® MBTS-80 is very popular used for NR, SBR, NBR, CR, and BR, Although it is similar to MBT-80, tendency to cause scorch is weak, and the induction period for curing is longer. It can be used independently or together with basic accelerator in the same way as Konson® MBT-80. It can also be used together with Konson®TMTD-80. Konson® MBTS-80 is a versatile semi-super accelerator with good processing safety. In combination with activated dithiocarbamtes, Konson® MBTS-80 prevents scorching. It is activated by thiurams, dithiocarbamates and aldehyde-amines. During the processing and vulcanization of CR compounds it has a retarding effect. When used with ultra-accelerators Konson® MBTS-80 improves the processing safety. Vulcanizates produced with Konson® MBTS-80 show good ageing properties.

Processing Advantages: The thermoplastic, excellent compatible EPDM/EVA binder which is combined with active dispersing promoters allows much more easily and quickly incorporation and excellent dispersion in the rubber mixing. In this way, optimal activity of the effective MBTS is assured.

Dosage levels: NR: primary: 1 - 2 phr with 2 - 3 phr sulfur secondary: 0.5 - 1 phr with 1 - 2 phr sulfur and 0.2 - 0.5 phr dithiocarbamate accelerators; SBR: primary: 1 - 3phr with 1 - 3 phr sulfur secondary: 0.25 - 0.75 phr with 1 - 3phr sulfur and 0.3 - 0.6 phr sulphenamide accelerators; NBR:primary: 1 - 2 phr with 0,2 - 2 phr sulfur secondary: 0.75 phr with 0.2 - 2 phr sulfur and 0.3 phr sulphenamide; IIR: 0.25 - 1 phr with 1 - 2 phr sulfur.

Applications: Mechanical articles of all kinds, e.g. treads, carcasses, air hoses, conveyor belts, transmission belts, hoses, cable insulations.
