Phillips 66 Polyurea NLGI Grade No. 1
Categories: Fluid; Lubricant; Urea Gellant

Material Notes: Polyurea Greases offer significant performance advantages in high temperature, multipurpose, long-life and wet applications over conventional soap thickened greases. The nonsoap, polyurea thickener, coupled with top-quality base oils and selected additives, provides a grease family which is extremely versatile, tough and long lasting. Most greases (soap based) use soap as a sponge to hold and release their oil/additive combinations when lubrication is required. Eventually, the oil is consumed, and the part must be regreased. Conoco Polyurea and Polyurea EP use a gel structure to securely bind the oil and additives to the nonsoap thickener. This provides a grease which is exceptionally resistant to oil bleeding, handles high temperatures (up to 500°F, 350°F continuous), is shear stable and is nearly impervious to water washout. Rust and corrosion protection is significantly enhanced, particularly over long periods since water, air and other corrosive material cannot penetrate the gel structure of the grease as easily as with soap-thickened greases. Conoco Polyurea Grease is specifically designed for exceptionally long life in applications that do not require EP protection, such as sealed for life bearings, electric motor bearings and other lightly loaded high-speed antifriction bearings. Periodic regreasing can lead to even longer bearing life in “sealed for life” applications. Its shear stability and resistance to oxidation ensures maximum protection in these applications. Exceptional resistance to water washout is particularly attractive in automotive under hood applications such as alternators, magnetos, water pumps, idler pulleys and other applications where water contamination can quickly degrade bearing life. Conoco EP Polyurea Grease is a shear, stable product with exceptional extreme-pressure characteristics and excellent water resistance. It is recommended for use in steel mills, off-road equipment, and fleet and commercial applications. It has excellent mobility at low temperatures.
