Material Notes:	Product highlights: CAB-O-SIL ULTRABOND 5780 fumed silica is a high-performing surface treated fumed silica. Compared to existing polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) treated silicas, CAB-O-SIL ULTRABOND 5780 fumed silica imparts advantages in rheology control, adhesion, as well as aging properties to epoxy-based adhesives. CAB-O-SIL ULTRABOND 5780 fumed silica is especially suited for epoxy formulations that require excellent rheology control and storage stability. This product particularly allows stronger bonding of epoxy structural adhesives, such as Crash-Durable-Adhesives (CDA), to lubricated or oily metal substrates (steel, aluminum and other materials) used in Original Equipment Manufacturers’ (OEM) automotive production lines. These structural adhesives can address light-weighting, safety, durability, NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness), manufacturing efficiency and sustainability requirements of the OEM.
