Master Bond EP21DP12 Two component urethane modified epoxy for bonding, sealing and potting
Categories: Polymer; Thermoset; Epoxy

Material Notes: Master Bond EP21DP12 is a two component, urethane modified epoxy for bonding, sealing and potting applications. It has a forgiving 2 to 1 mix ratio by weight along with a conveniently extended working life. This system cures at ambient temperatures or more readily at elevated temperatures. The optimum cure schedule is overnight at room temperature followed by 2 to 3 hours at 135-150°F. It is 100% reactive and does not contain any solvents or diluents. Also, it contains an air release agent which allows for facilitated degassing. EP21DP12 bonds well to a wide variety of substrates such as metals, glass, ceramics and many types of rubbers and plastics. The urethane component allows the system to withstand temperature cycling as well as thermal and mechanical shocks more readily than typical epoxies. EP21DP12 has good resistance to water, oils and fuels. It is a dependable electrically isolating material. It generates relatively low exotherm in comparison to other systems and is appropriate for potting applications up to 2-2.5 inches thick. The service temperature range is -100°F to +250°F. It is available in red, green, blue, black and white for identification or cosmetic purposes. This epoxy is an interesting option for bonding and potting where a toughened system along with a distinctive color are desirable features.
