Alpine Advanced Materials HX5™ Thermoplastic Carbon Fiber Nanocomposite
Categories: Polymer; Thermoplastic

Material Notes: HX5™ is an injection moldable carbon fiber filled thermoplastic nanocomposite. It is a high strength-to-weight ratio compound that is resistant to a variety of environmental conditions including temperature, corrosive gases & liquids, and radiation. It is comparable in strength to 6061 aluminum with a much lower density.

Features: -Thermally stable at extreme temperatures
-Resistant to solvents, fuels, lubricants, and chemicals
-Can be machined, primed, painted, and bonded
-Scratch and abrasion resistant
-Galvanic corrosion resistant
-Satisfies spacecraft limits on outgassing and radiation resistance
-Meets guidelines for flame, smoke, and toxicity, including FAR 25.853 Appendix F Part I (a) (1) (i); Part I (a) (1) (ii); Part V; AITM 3.0005.
