Covestro DESMODURE® N 3400 Polyurethane
Categories: Polymer; Thermoset; Polyurethane, TS

Material Notes: Characterization: Aliphatic polyisocyanate (HDI uretdione). As the hardener component for lightfast polyurethane coating systems.

Properties / Applications: Desmodur® N 3400 is used primarily as a reactive thinner or as a hardener component for lightfast two-component polyurethane coatings and as a binder for moisture-curing one-component polyurethane coatings. In two-component systems, Desmodur® N 3400 is usually mixed with other aliphatic polyisocyanates such as Desmodur® N 3200, N 3300, N 3600 and Z 4470. Preferred co-reactants are polyacrylate polyols such as Desmophen® A 160 and A 665. In one-component polyurethane systems, Desmodur® N 3400 is used as the sole binder or mixed with other polyisocyanates such as Desmodur® N 3200 and N 3300. On account of its low viscosity, Desmodur® N 3400 can also be used as the hardener for aqueous two-component polyurethane coatings.
