Covestro Bayhydur® 401-70 Polyurethane Coating
Categories: Polymer; Thermoplastic; Adhesives, Sealants, and Coatings; Thermoset; Polyurethane, TS

Material Notes: Hydrophilically modified aliphatic polyisocyanate based on isophorone diisocyanate (IPDI). As the co-reactant for aqueous resins and as the hardener for chemically resistant and weather-stable coating systems.

Properties / Applications: Bayhydur® 401-70 is mainly used as the co-reactant for aqueous polyol binders from the Bayhydrol® range. Because of its hydrophilic character, Bayhydur® 401-70 can be easily emulsified in the aqueous phase. The properties (e.g. resistance to chemicals and solvents) of aqueous two-component polyurethane coatings can be improved by the addition of Bayhydur® 401-70.
