HB Fuller FAST 2K™ Deck Post Anchor
Categories: Other Engineering Material

Material Notes: Product Description: Fast 2K™ Deck Post Anchor is a patented expanding composite designed to fill the peripheral void between a post and the hole for load bearing applications. Fast 2K™ Deck Post Anchor builds on the technology of the award winning and widely successful Fast 2K™ and Pole Setting Expanding Composite Backfill used to set fences and utility poles for more than 20 years. The expanding nature of Fast 2K™ Deck Post Anchor allows the use of up to 90% less weight in Fast 2K™ Deck Post Anchor compared to concrete. Fast 2K™ Deck Post Anchor expands immediately after mixing and holds the posts in 3-5 minutes. Additional work can be done on posts in 15-30 minutes after Fast 2K™ Deck Post Anchor hardens. Fast 2K™ Deck Post Anchor does not require water, sets posts in minutes and becomes water-resistant, once fully cured, to help protect posts against rotting. Fast 2K™ Deck Post Anchor has been tested and been found to not provide a food source for termites. Fast 2K™ Deck Post Anchor material is used as stabilizing backfill material around embedded posts, as an alternate to the concrete described in IBC Section 1807.3.3. Fast 2K™ Deck Post Anchor can also be used as a footing, to transfer downward axial load from the embedded post to the soil. For structures regulated under the IRC, Fast 2K™ Deck Post Anchor may be used when an engineered design is performed in accordance with IRC Section R301.1.3.

Features:

  • Replaces up to 90% its weight in concrete
  • Fast 2K™ Deck Post Anchor expands from a thin liquid, allowing for easy installation in off-centre holes
  • No water needed
  • No post base/saddle required
  • Sets posts in minutes
  • Has exceptional adhesion to posts allowing for heavy loads to be placed on the post
  • Water resistant to protect post from rot or corrosion
  • Can be used during winter
